MESOPOTAMIA
My Mesopotamian paintings are inspired by the formal qualities of the ancient Near-East artworks. They show sharp, strong, and clearly defined lines and a limited color palette. I keep the beige of the raw canvas that reminds the stone used by ancient carvers and I use the ultramarine blue of the lapis lazuli that evokes Mesopotamian jewellery and mosaics. Through my female creative energy, the use of these masculine formal features operated a deep integration and reconciliation.
